This week I worked a 3D modeling project with a lot of freedom. I decided to create a modernized lamp. I referenced it to a lamp I found on google with holes in it, as well as a box/spherical body to it. Immediately I knew I had to use a box primitive and turn it into a editable poly and then add the spherify modifier. Then modify it into a sphere. Then I Ctrl-clicked out a pattern and once I did that all the way around the sphere. Once that was finished I extruded it inward to create that hole effect.
Next I had to add the actually lamp part. So the last primitive I used was the cylinder. I made one with the dimensions so It was real tall and skinny. That resembled the lamp rod. Then lastly I need to make a lamp cover. So I made another cylinder and scaled that one to be a little bit larger. This was my final product.

To be completely honest with myself, my creative process was rushed and in a hurry. I spent extra time on parts of the project that I did not need to when I could have solved it by making my pre-production better. The recording process was pretty unique. I recorded my audio from my written script then just recorded myself actually doing what the recording says. Then sync that up together in Premiere pro.
I decided to research some helpful steps to make my pre-production a lot better when making videos. One helpful tip I found was that get to the point in 8 seconds. In my videos I rumpled on about this and that for too long instead of getting straight to the point of the tutorials. Another helpful tip that I found was story boarding. Although this was a tutorial. I could have still story boarded what I was going to say at this moment in time with this footage of video. To add to that make a shot list of things I am going to need to record for the voice over. Lastly I should probably use a checklist and make sure I have everything done in the pre-production before shooting my actual video. In conclusion;
https://www.singlegrain.com/video-marketing/20-pre-production-steps-to-video-content/ https://www.studiobinder.com/blog/ultimate-pre-production-checklist/ This week in class we worked with Illustrator to create a logo for a company. Most graphic designers design and create logos for clients on Illustrator. I came up with the question, why? I know Illustrator and Photoshop have their differences in the way stuff is created but why do designers prefer making a logo in Illustrator rather Photoshop.
To answer my question I searched the following; why do designers use Illustrator rather Photoshop for making logos. Here is some of the answers I found, Illustrator gives you more of a controllable ability. In Illustrator you use mathematical points and solutions to create paths and strokes. So for example you want to change how long a stroke or line is on a part of your logo you don't have to guess for where want the part of your logo to be smaller at. You do math to get you the exact length you want off and this helps in the long production stage to make things a little less harder. Second reason I found was that you loss quality when resizing stuff in Photoshop but in Illustrator your quality of your design stays the same when you resize it .The last reason and the one I think gives me the best answer is, Photoshop should be used for photo manipulation and editing things already made. Illustrator is used for making and creating from scratch. In conclusion;
Hyperlinks; Adobe vs Illustartor You take a look a video game, graphic design. These examples are Bitmaps. Bitmap Graphics, are 2D digital images created using a grid of pixels. The types of pixels that can be used when creating bitmap are aliasing & anti-aliasing. Aliasing, are jagged stair-stepped edges. Anti-aliasing, is method of reducing pixilation by fading fading pixel colors on the edges. These bitmaps are usually made in programs like GIMP, Adobe Photoshop. Things made by bit-mapping are things such as, photography, digital painting, videos games & graphic design. Now, I know there are other variations of creating stuff like bitmaps. So I research differences between bitmap & vectors. First a vectors are create using mathematical formulas. Brand logos and team logos are created using vectors. Now some differences. Vectors can be scaled without losing quality, where as you scale a photograph of a dog which is a bitmap, it loses quality. Now vectors use something called, Beizur curves to form the output drawing, where as bitmaps contain matrix of dots to form a picture. You also have a big difference in the way the file is saved. Bitmaps are saved in types such as, GIF, JPG, EPS. Then vectors are saved as, AI, PNG, or PDF. There is also one last difference, the software used to create them. You would use things like Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw for vectors. Then you would use Adobe Photoshop & GIMP. In conclusion;
References; Vector definition Differences in vectors & bitmaps Categories All When editing your images in Adobe Photoshop, you have two editing styles. Destructive and non-destructive editing. Destructive editing is when you manipulate the pixels in a image and those changes are permanent. Non-destructive is when pixels in a image are not destroyed or manipulated. When a image is save a image that is edited destructively the pixels can not be restored to its original state.
Now, knowing this is important for any and all digital artist. Why? Well say your editing a photo. You remove a tree from the background. Later you realize the image looks better with the tree. The tree has been removed the original photo you took and now you have to take another photograph. Why? Well because you removed the tree pixels from the image and they can't be brought back. All this catches my attention because, you screw up and delete something from your original image you cannot bring it back. This is all because of small tiny things called pixels. Something so small can cause so much chaos. Now, I researched more about destructive and non-destructive editing. I learned a couple of techniques you can use to avoid destroying your image when editing it in photo editing software's. The most effective technique I would say is masking. This is because you can edit the image and mask without losing any pixels. The main reason images are destroyed is you destroy pixels. So masking avoid this fully. The second method I would say is the most effective is working with your adjustment layers. You can apply color and tonal adjustments without changing pixel values. Remember that our main goal of having non-destructive editing is not changing anything with the pixels. In Conclusion;
Nondestructive editing techniques Whats the difference between the two What color do you think of when you here the words harmony, peace and unity? Well the first color that came to mind was the color white. Its relaxing and peaceful. The color that is related to those three words is blue. Blue creates reliability, security and trust.
This a example of monochrome. Monochrome describes painting, drawings, designs, or photographs in one color or values of color. Now understanding monochrome is solely important for anything having to do with design or anything artistic. When you creating a design or taking a photograph knowing which colors changes what feelings in ones mind may change the way your design or photograph is perceived. For example, your wanting to create a design that shows danger and betrayal. You would not use the color blue because blue shows peace and unity. But you would want to use the color yellow or red. All this is very captivating, and it catches my eye for one specific reason, and that is you can change ones feelings or emotions with something as simple as color. Now I researched more about how color changes on emotions and feelings and this is what I found. Research shows that there are two reasons why colors are able to change how we feel. We have special relationships with colors. Like the color red. It is a stimulating color it changes the way or heart beats and this is because red singles danger and alarm. Secondly, we have adapted to certain associations with colors. A example is green may make you feel nice because your moms kitchen was green. In conclusion;
